Most people will have either read, seen or heard something about the latest developments in 3D technology. If you were lucky enough to see Avatar in 3D at the cinema then it is very likely that you were amazed at the stunning depth of experience 3D brought to this movie on the big screen and are possibly considering buying your own 3D TV setup.
Personally Pure Home Technology think 3D will be more about films and gaming than football as these two types of content lend themselves much more to 3D as viewers tend to get much more immersed in the experience.
What equipment will be needed to view 3D TV at home?
Firstly you will need a 3D compatible source, currently this will either be SkyHD or 3D enabled blu-ray player. Please note that only specific models of blu-ray player are capable of playing 3D blu-ray discs. As some people may know, SkyHD is not actually full HD and therefore we would suggest that if anyone if serious about Blu-ray then purchase a dedicated 3D blu-ray source machine. The Denon Cara Blu-ray/DVD Surround Receiver S-5BD combines the ability to play 3D Blu-ray discs with a built-in av receiver to give you total enjoyment from pure stereo playback to full-fledged cinematic sound. An advanced intelligent system automatically detects the number and characteristics of speakers in your setup to achieve optimum performance for the acoustics of your room whether you are using a 2.1-channel or a 5.1-channel speaker system. You will also require a 3D compatible television (3D TV), with an HDMI 1.4 input such as the Panasonic VIERA Full HD VT20 Series or Samsung 3D LED’s. Both manufacturers use the frame sequential method of displaying 3D content so that a full HD picture is delivered (dependent on source of course).
